Time for Vector Graphics
June 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment
So here’s an image I created from a doodle I did at lunch today. I scanned the image when I got home from work, then used GIMP to create the background and solid color areas.
I really love this one, except it’s too pixelated. I need to try this again in a vector graphics program and see what happens. It should be good practice, given that I’ve done very little work with vector images.

Cute Chicks (of the Feathered Kind)
June 21, 2009 · 1 Comment
I started drawing the little chick (below) many years ago and have revived it as part of reclaiming cuteness in my life.
The first image is a drawing I did this week that I then colored digitally. The photo is of a lazy susan I painted about five years ago. I sold a couple of them, one through a local gift shop, the other at a charity auction.

Wanted: Cuteness Expert
June 17, 2009 · 2 Comments
I have a confession: I am a closet cute freak. I love cute little illustrations with butterflies, and clouds, sunshine and blue skies, and little girls flying around in frilly or funky dresses. Unfortunately I have found that I’m not that great at cute, but occasionally I try, in an attempt to purge the craving from my system.
It seldom works, but here’s one anyway.
If you have expertise in cuteness, your advice is dearly desired.
