I’ve Moved!

Hi Everyone,

I just set up my own website with a new blog and shop where I’ll be selling my Simply Cute by Karin cards and art.

Posts on Gospel of Karin will still be available, but all future posts will be on the new blog.

I want to thank everyone who’s visited me here for the last couple of years.  Please stop by the new place for a visit!

Take care,

Happy Mother’s Day!

Cute Birthday Card

I made my first Happy Birthday card today for my Etsy shop. This is the same little girl on the “Cupcake on the Brain” gift tags in my prior post (I made a card of her too):

Cupcake on the Brain Gift Tags

I think I’m becoming obsessed with making gift tags. I made these little cuties yesterday and listed them for sale this morning.

I really love working on small “canvases.” Years ago, I used to paint knobs; I did a bunch for my kitchen cabinets. The gift tags are more manageable for me because I don’t have to set up my paints to do them.

Handmade Gift Tags

In my last post, I talked about handmade gift tags I recently listed in my Etsy shop. I made some improvements to them, including the joy of hand laminating using packing tape. Today, I relisted one set.

The Art of Shipping Tags

I’ve been working on creating original ink drawings on basic shipping tags. I’ve put these up for sale in my Etsy shop. So far, I’ve gotten positive responses on the black houses. Just today, I posted the building-themed tags.

House Paintings

I’ve always loved paintings of houses. Whether done in a realistic, graphic, or abstract style, I’m simply and mysteriously drawn to them. I’ve  had my paint pens and some canvases laying around for a few weeks, so I decided to do some abstract, colorful house paintings myself (I still need to finish off the edges).

I’m having so much fun with these that I plan to do more in the coming weeks. I also made cards of these for my Etsy shop, and they came out really well (if I do say so myself).
